XinTian Tan is a enthusiastic musician from Kuching, Malaysia. After graduating in Foundation in Music at the International College of Music, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, she continue to pursue her study overseas at the Berklee College of Music, U.S.A. In the year of 2020, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in music summa cum laude, majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production and Performance.

 

At the age of 5, she picked up piano as her instrument and has not stop playing since then. Classically trained, she was awarded a distinction in LTCL Piano Recital under the Trinity College of London in 2014. She started as a church pianist at the age of 9, then to publicly performing piano in wedding events, gigs, open mics and student's performance night in college. She also had experience recording for other student's EP as a session pianist during her foundation year in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

 

Besides playing piano, she also composes music ranging from writing for motion picture, advertisement to writing melody for songs. One of her collaboration work where she composed background music for “Female Condoms are Pretty Nice”, a short film, won the 3rd prize in a short film competition that was organized by PATH, an international non-profit organization in global health innovation in 2014. Her other passion included peer tutoring in music theory and harmony and teaching piano. 

  

Following her dream, she now focus more on learning jazz piano and enhancing her profession in music composition and production. "Music is my never ending journey. I do what I love to do, enjoy every process, celebrate my success, embrace my failure and most importantly, I will never quit. It is my life, it is a pursuit of happiness", she said.
